let me show you this little known masking trick in photoshop to replace the sky you can go into the channels panel and use the rgb channel with the most contrast between foreground and background as a mask the blue channel could work great but unfortunately most people limit themselves to the three channels in this panel not knowing that there are more to choose from what you can do instead is duplicate your current document by going into image duplicate check this box to merge the duplicate into one layer then go into image mode and cmyk you will now get 4 different alpha channels in this case the yellow channel is a much better starting point for our mask first duplicate the channel then invert it and use the levels adjustment to crush the blacks and the whites go back to the original image and go into select and load selection select the duplicate document and the channel you worked on when the selection loads you can click on the mask icon to remove the sky
