pem is the name of the certificate file. The certificate looks similar to this example. The new format places all the certificate information on a single line with embedded newline characters.
What about PDF Forms? With a text form field, a \r (carriage return) character can be used to separate two lines. (Two consecutive carriage returns can be used to separate two lines with an empty line.) PDFOne Java also allows the use of \n (newline) character but it will be replaced with a \r character.
The PEM file should finish with one and only one new line character on the final line (Unix LF character, \n or 0x0A in hexadecimal). The Private key must not be encrypted. All requirements as in: SSL Requirements for Dedicated Load Balancer Documentation should be met.
A . pem file is a container format that may just include the public certificate or the entire certificate chain (private key, public key, root certificates): Private Key. Server Certificate (crt, puplic key)
You can convert a one-line certificate string by adding delimiters and wrapping at character 67. Put newline characters (\n) into your string variable, instead.
EOL or End of Line or newline ascii character What is an End of Line character: LF (character : \n, Unicode : U+000A, ASCII : 10, hex : 0x0a): This is simply the \n character which we all know from our early programming days.
