MOBI is an older file format and does not support the latest Kindle features for documents. If you wish to enjoy our most up-to-date document features, please re-send files in a compatible format. EPUB (. epub) is one such compatible format, and you can send it to your library through Send to Kindle for Email.

Why cant i send MOBI to Kindle?

MOBI is an older file format and wont support the newest Kindle features for documents. Any MOBI documents already in your library that you want to read with our most up-to-date features for documents will need to be re-sent in a compatible format, such as EPUB (. epub).

How to modify a mobi file?

Technically, no, you cant edit Mobi files directly. But you can unpack a Mobi file to HTML + OPF/NCX (or convert it to ePub), make your edits, and then recompile your new and improved Mobi. There is a Calibre plugin called Mobi Unpack that will extract the mobi and you can edit the html file to your liking.

Can you transfer MOBI files to Kindle?

Copy MOBI File to Kindle Your books are stored on your Kindle inside the documents directory, as seen above. Right-click on the documents folder, and select PASTE. This will copy your MOBI file onto your Kindle. Thats all there is to it!

Will Send to Kindle no longer support MOBI file formats?
