On the Home command tab, in the Cells group, click Format. From the Format menu, in the Visibility section, select Hide Unhide Unhide Columns. The column reappears.
Select the Home tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen. Select Cells Format Hide Unhide Unhide Columns.
Select the columns you want to switch (click the first columns heading, press Shift and then click the last column heading). An alternative way is to select only the headings of the columns to be moved and then press Ctrl + Space.
To make only the working area of your sheet visible, you can hide all unused (blank) columns to the right of your data. Heres how: Select the column to the right of the last column with data. Press Ctrl + Shift + Right Arrow to highlight all the unused columns to the end of the sheet.
Right-click the selected columns, and then select Unhide.
If you dont see the first column (column A) or row (row 1) in your worksheet, it might be hidden. Heres how to unhide it. In this picture column A and row 1 are hidden. To unhide column A, right-click the column B header or label and pick Unhide Columns.
This means that if there are rows/columns that are not visible to either the left or top of your spreadsheet, these cells will remain unviewable once Freeze Panes has been activated. This essentially prevents you from accessing (unhiding) them.
How to unhide all cells in Excel. To unhide all rows and columns, select the whole sheet as explained above, and then press Ctrl + Shift + 9 to show hidden rows and Ctrl + Shift + 0 to show hidden columns.
