Select the text where you want to remove a hanging indent. Go to Home Paragraph dialog launcher Indents and Spacing. Under Special, select None. Select OK.
The overtype feature is turned on/off with the Insert key on your keyboard. Find and click the Insert key. On most standard desktop keyboards, the Insert key is usually located in the top-right corner, above the arrow keys.
To delete a hanging indent, click on the start of the paragraph (the line that isnt indented) and hit the backspace button.
You can also click Format from the toolbar. Then, hover over Align indent to locate the Increase indent and Decrease indent commands.
Clear a hanging indent Click the Home tab, and then click the Paragraph dialog box launcher. Under Indentation, click the arrow next to Special, and choose (none).
Its a two step process and here it is: Open the Google Doc you want to clear formatting from. Highlight all text you want to clear formatting from (its ok if there is plain text included too). Either: Click the remove formatting button in the toolbar OR. Click Format then Clear formatting OR. Shortcut keys:
To remove a tab stop, select the indicator on the Ruler and drag it downward out of (away from) the Ruler. If you remove all of the tab stops that you added, Google Docs returns you to the default 0.5-inch cursor move when you press the Tab key.
To remove the tab stop, click and drag it off of the Ruler.
