So, letamp;#39;s look at an example of how to display the relationship between formulas in cells. To see where the data is coming from that is being used to calculate the Percent of Leads by Quarter, weamp;#39;ll first need to place our cursor in any cell with a formula for which weamp;#39;d like to trace related cells for. And, once we do that, weamp;#39;ll go into the Formulas tab, and in the Formula Auditing section, select Trace Precedents. On the Review tab, click Track Changes, and then click Highlight Changes. Select or clear the Track changes while editing. This also shares your workbook check box. Selecting this check box shares the workbook and highlights changes that you or other users make.
Hover over Text and then click on Strikethrough. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt + Shift + 5 (Cmd + Shift + X on Mac). To remove strikethrough, simply select the cell or text again and repeat the same process: Format Text Strikethrough, or use the keyboard shortcut.
On the Excel menu, click Preferences. , and then clear the Enable background error checking check box. Tip: You can also hide precedent and dependent tracer arrows once youve identified the cell that is causing an error to appear. On the Formulas tab, in the Formula Auditing group, click Remove Arrows.
The Trace Error button appears next to the cell in which a formula error occurs, and a green triangle appears in the upper-left corner of the cell. When you click the arrow next to the button, a list of options for error checking appears.
Excel will draw arrows to show the cells that are affected by the value of the selected cell. If the cell has multiple dependents, you can use the Trace Dependents button again to trace the dependents of the dependent cells. To remove the arrows, click on the Remove Arrows button in the Formula Auditing group.
On a worksheet, select the cell or range of cells that you want to remove a border from. To cancel a selection of cells, click any cell on the worksheet. Click Home the Borders arrow Erase Border, and then select the cells with the border you want to erase.
If you want to go back to the original cell (the one you were in when you pressed Ctrl [ ), press F5 Enter . You could also use Alt md (to trace Dependents) and/or Alt mp (to trace Precedents). To remove the arrows, Alt mad (to remove Dependent arrows) or Alt map (Precedent arrows) or Alt maa (to remove both).
Resolution Select the cell to which the arrow is pointing. On the Tools menu, point to Formula Auditing, and then click Show Formula Auditing Toolbar. On the Formula Auditing toolbar, click Remove Precedent Arrows.
