You can remove wood stain using a chemical stripper, which will do most of the heavy lifting, and then sand the wood as a finishing step to smooth out the surface before preparing it to be stained, sealed, or painted.
Apply dish soap to the stained area(s) and rub it in using fingers or a toothbrush. Wash on heavy soil setting in warm water (or as directed by the items label) and use an enzyme-based liquid laundry detergent for maximum stain-fighting power.
First, sprinkle baking soda over the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes to absorb the stain. Then, pour vinegar over the baking soda and let it fizz for a few minutes. Finally, rinse the garment in cold water and repeat the process as necessary until the stain is gone.
For fresh stains: Throw some baking soda onto it and use a toothbrush to scrub the denimyoull notice that the spot will begin to fade. If the stain is being stubborn, put dish detergent onto it, scrub it in with a toothbrush, let it sit for 10 minutes. Wash on a normal cycle.
Soak a cloth with some dry cleaning fluid and blot the stain up. For extra stubborn stains, follow up with vinegar. While you are blotting the garment, youll notice the stain transferring to the cloth. Youll need to use a clean portion of the damp cloth to avoid putting the stain back onto the garment.
Make a stain remover by adding enough water to baking soda to create a thick paste. Rub the stain gently with the paste using a soft cloth. Use a damp cloth to wipe up the residue and give the wood a quick buff.
Toothpaste is a GREAT whitener for many WHITE fabrics and is great for removing ink stains on TESTED fabrics. However, its not a good substitute for laundry detergent, no. It can bleach out some fabrics, stain others and if you use too much and wash in cold water, its not going rinse well.
Pre-treat with a stain remover, then let it soak in. Launder ing to the fabric care instructions. Regular stains should come out in cold water but for extra dirty clothing or very tough stains, use the warmest setting safe for the fabric. If the stain remains, repeat the steps above.
