okay so again the first thing we want to make sure that our exponent is isolated is the exponent isolated yes the next thing we want to do then is i have to get i want to see can i use the one-to-one property can i raise 3 and 7 as exponents with the same base no right because we know that three three to the first is three three squared is nine so thats not going to work right so what i can do then is i have to take the logarithm of both sides now here comes the problem though um so im the what log of base should i use then to take a log of both sides log base 3. so ill take log base 3 of 3 raised to the x plus 1 is equal to log base 3 of 7. now its important about this guys again as ive mentioned when you have log base 3 of 3 raised to the power as we went over those rules it just equals the power now heres the problem if you guys remember when we looked at marissas phone and we tried to compute the log it only had log base 10 right the same thing unless you have a calculator

Logs of the same base can be added together by multiplying their arguments: log(xy) = log(x) + log(y). They can be subtracted by dividing the arguments: log(x/y) = log(x) - log(y).
Finding an antilog is the inverse operation of finding a log, so is another name for exponentiation.
Explanation: In order to eliminate the log based ten, we will need to raise both sides as the exponents using the base of ten. The ten and log based ten will cancel, leaving just the power on the left side.
The exponential function, exp : R (0,), is the inverse of the natural logarithm, that is, exp(x) = y x = ln(y). Remark: Since ln(1) = 0, then exp(0) = 1. Since ln(e) = 1, then exp(1) = e.
To rid an equation of logarithms, raise both sides to the same exponent as the base of the logarithms. In equations with mixed terms, collect all the logarithms on one side and simplify first.
The opposite of LN in a calculator is e^x.
The natural exponential is the reciprocal of the natural logarithm. The natural exponential is the inverse of the natural logarithm. The natural exponential is the negative of the natural logarithm.
The inverse function of log is the function that undoes the effect of log. In other words, it returns a number to its original value after it has been multiplied by the logarithm. This function is written as ln(x), and it can be used to solve problems involving logs.
