Quick answer: The last line of Of Mice and Men is fitting as it contrasts Curleys self-absorption with Georges deep bond with Lennie. Curleys inability to comprehend their grief underlines his lack of commitment to others, a stark contrast to the strong friendship between George and Lennie.
Before George shoots Lennie, he tells him to look out over the river and picture the farm theyre going to have. George goes on to describe the farm and tells him that he will tend to the rabbits and that everybody will be nice to him and assures him that hes not mad at him for what he did.

Answer and Explanation: Slims dog, Lulu, had nine puppies, and most of them perished. To increase the odds that the puppies would survive Slim killed off four in the beginning by drowning them. Two puppies survived into weaning age, and Slim gave them to Lennie and Candy.
Les do it now, Lennie says. Les get that place now. George agrees. He raises Carlsons gun, which he has removed from his jacket, and shoots Lennie in the back of the head. As Lennie falls to the ground and becomes still, George tosses the gun away and sits down on the riverbank.
