compute log base 2 of 64. so the question is 2 to what power is going to give us 64. letamp;#39;s write it down 2 to what power is 64. when youamp;#39;re first learning this it helps to write it so if youamp;#39;re having a hard time write it down with your pencil or pen so weamp;#39;re looking for the exponents so 2 to the 4 is 16. 2 to the 5 is 32 and then times two again would be two to the sixth yep two to the sixth would be sixty-four so the answer is just six

Base64 is also widely used for sending e-mail attachments, because SMTP in its original form was designed to transport 7-bit ASCII characters only. Encoding an attachment as Base64 before sending, and then decoding when received, assures older SMTP servers will not interfere with the attachment.
What is Radix 64 Encoding? Radix 64 encoding allows binary data stored in octets (i.e. bytes) to be expressed as printable characters.
Quite often, users cannot decode Base64, because they got a malformed or invalid string. For example, this can happen if the source outputs an unexpected Base64 standard, the user copied unnecessary data, or something damaged the Base64 value.
Threat actors often disguise malicious scripts in email attachments or share documents infected with malware. One particularly elusive approach is to use Base64 encoding to hide malicious code within HTML content. This article details Base64 encoding as a technique to obfuscate HTML smuggled payloads.
Base64 is not an encryption algorithm and in no case should it be used to hash passwords or encrypt sensitive data, because it is a reversible algorithm and the encoded data can be easily decoded. Base64 may only be used to encode raw result of a cryptographic function.
Username and password can contain a lot of incompatible stuff, so you have to encode them to safe textual chars. Base64 is recommended to use in such cases. For this reason some developers think that base64 is a kind of encryption (data protection) which is not true.
Disadvantage of Base64 It increases the size of the data by about 33%. This can be an issue if you are transmitting data over a network or storing it on a disk, as it will take up more space. It is not a secure method of encoding data.
Base64 is a binary to a text encoding scheme that represents binary data in an American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) string format. Its designed to carry data stored in binary format across the channels, and it takes any form of data and transforms it into a long string of plain text.
