By default, a Word document contains only a single section no matter how long the document is. And within a section, the header and footer contents are always the same. So, if we want to remove the header or footer of some pages in Word, we will have to split up the Word document into multiple sections. Lets say that we want to change the header and footer contents only for the pages 3 and 4. In that case, we have to make everything before page 3 the first section then the pages 3 and 4 will be the second section and everything after page 4 will be the third section.
