Press Alt+F9 to turn off field codes currently on the page. To turn off a field code for a specific field, click on the field and press Shift+F9 instead. Click the Office button and select Word Options to turn off field codes by default.
To change from the field code to the merge field, or vice versa, in a Microsoft Word document: Press ALT + F9 to toggle Field Codes on/off.
Delete a field from a table In the Navigation Pane, right-click the table, and then click Design View. In the table design grid, select the field that you want to delete, and then press DEL. Close and save the table.
Removal of field codes Then resubmit that version. To remove hidden links, select all text (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A), then press Ctrl+Shift+F9 or Cmd+6 to unlink all fields. Using these methods, your in-text citations and bibliography should become regular text, without field codes or any hidden links.
They are to let you see fields. You can use Alt+F9 to display everything. Then select everything between the field braces and copy. Then Ctrl+A to delete everything. Then paste. Finally, Alt+F9 to toggle back to display of field results.
Select the border of the text box that you want to delete, and then press DELETE. Make sure that the pointer is on the border of the text box and not inside the text box. If the pointer is not on the border, pressing DELETE will delete the text inside the text box.
To remove the field codes, press CTRL-A to select all of the text in your document. Then press CTRL-SHIFT-F9 to remove the field codes.
Simple Step-By-Step In Word, go to the EndNote tab. Select the Bibliography group Convert Citations and Bibliography Convert to Plain Text. Word will open a copy of your document without field codes in a new window. Save the new copy.
