hi welcome to Tuts plus my name is Bob flu sir when you have a lot of data on a worksheet and you want to extract some of that data to use on other worksheets the vlookup match and index functions are great ways to do it these functions work in any version of Excel on Windows or Mac and they also work on the web in Google sheets and also on the web versions of Excel with the vlookup function and the V stands for vertical you have data arranged down columns and by the way there is also an H lookup function where you have data arranged across rows H is horizontal and it works the exact same way as vlookup so theres really no need for me to cover that in this tutorial you can grab actual data from a worksheet like you see here and use it in other sheets where as the match and index functions are really concerned with the positioning of data where your data are located rather than what is the actual value of the data if you want to follow along in this tutorial using your own workbook g

How do I delete an AMI image?

In the navigation pane, choose Snapshots. Select a snapshot to delete (look for the AMI ID from the prior step in the Description column). Choose Actions, Delete snapshot. When prompted for confirmation, choose Delete.

What is a snapshot of a volume?

A Volume Snapshot represents a Cloud storage volume at a particular point in time. Dont confuse this with a database snapshot, this is a snapshot of the entire volume, regardless of whether it contains a database or not. You can create a snapshot regardless of whether or not a volume is attached to an Instance.

What is the difference between AMI and volume snapshot?

Snapshot is a point in time backup of specific volume while AMI is is backup of the entire EC2 instance that might have multiple attached volumes, exactly like virtual machines. With Packer, you can build automated machine images including AMIs for EC2, VMDK/VMX files for VMware, OVF exports for VirtualBox, etc.

Can I delete instance after creating AMI?

If you create an AMI from an EC2 instance, you can terminate the instance and create a new one from the AMI. If you have taken a snapshot of the EBS boot volume the instances is using, you will need to register it as an AMI before you can create a new instance.
