The delete control character (also called DEL or rubout) is the last character in the ASCII repertoire, with the code 127.
In the 7-bit ASCII character set, ASCII code 24 is represented by the control character ␘ also known as the cancel.
1) Press the Alt key on your keyboard, and do not let go. 2) While keep press Alt, on your keyboard type the number 127, which is the number of the letter or symbol DEL in ASCII table.
Inserting ASCII Characters Go to Home tab, in the Font group, change the font to Wingdings (or other font set). Press and hold the ALT key and type the character code on the numeric keypad.
In general, the ASCII value of a letter is easy to find in this way: Find the cardinal value of the letter - 1 for A, 2 for B, , 26 for Z. If it is uppercase, add 64. If it is lowercase, add 96.

In order to remove them, you can use a regular expression to match all non-ASCII characters and replace them with an empty string. The regular expression [^\ -\~] matches all characters outside the range of printable ASCII characters (from space to tilde). Then, using String.
