ACL contains a FIND( ) function that enables you to search for a string in a specific field, or in an entire record. The FIND( ) function is not case sensitive, searches for both EBCDIC and ASCII character strings, and returns a true (T) value if the string is found. Examples: FIND(Vancouver)
In base R, use na. omit() to remove all observations with missing data on ANY variable in the dataset, or use subset() to filter out cases that are missing on a subset of variables.
omit() method is used to return a copy of the object that is composed of the own and inherited enumerable property paths of the given object that are not omitted. It is the opposite of the . pick() method.
An additional function, dow(), returns the day of the week (mon, tue, and so on) for a specified date. For a description of the dow() function, see Data Type Conversion Functions (see page Data Type Conversion Functions). Returns a date value truncated to the specified unit.
MID returns a specific number of characters from a text string, starting at the position you specify, based on the number of characters you specify.
omit() function is used to return a copy of the object that was filtered to omit the blacklisted keys.
The OMIT( ) function removes one or more substrings from a string. It differs from functions such as CLEAN( ), EXCLUDE( ), INCLUDE( ), and REMOVE( ) because it matches and removes characters on a substring basis rather than on a character-by-character basis.
