today I want to show you guys how to remove a background in DaVinci Resolve to begin move the clip with the background you want to remove to video layer 2. go down and click on Fusion then hold Ctrl and push space to bring up the select tool menu now type in Magic mask and then scroll down and click on ADD and it will be added to your nodes go over to your preview window and youll notice your cursor has been changed into a dropper icon now you can simply click and drag a rough Trace around the object that you want to keep and DaVinci will automatically remove anything thats not part of what you just traced if you click back over to edit you can now add your own new background onto video layer 1.
