Element: removeAttribute() method The Element method removeAttribute() removes the attribute with the specified name from the element.
If you have not done so already, expand Schema management in the navigation area, then click Manage attributes. To delete an attribute: Click the radio button next to the attribute that you want to delete. Click Delete.
There is no supported way to delete classes or attributes defined in the schema. You can, however, deactivate them, also known as making them defunct. Before you deactivate a class you should make sure that no instantiated objects of that class exist.
A schema object cannot be deleted, but it can be made defunct by setting the isDefunct attribute to TRUE. A schema object that is not defunct is active. The primary effect of the defunct state is to prevent the schema object from being used in the creation or modification of new objects.
Open the Schema Console. Right-click Active Directory Schema in the AD Schema Consoles console tree, then select Operations Master. The Change Schema Master dialog box, which Figure 1 shows, appears.
