To delete rows that contain XML documents, use the DELETE SQL statement. Include a WHERE clause when you want to delete specific rows. You can specify which rows are to be deleted based on values within XML columns.
Opening XMLs Fast Right click the XML file you want to open and hover the cursor over open with. Select Notepad to open the text on your computer. You can open XML files using a browser if your notepad isnt legible. If the contents of the XML file dont make sense, download an XML reader to interpret the file.
Use client-side programming to retrieve the XML that is generated at the server with FOR XML and write it into the [n]text column. Then, use the previously mentioned techniques to transfer data to a later version database. You can choose to write the XML into an XML column in the later version database directly.
To extract data using an XML source Double-click the XML source. In the XML Source Editor, on the Connection Manager page, select a data access mode: For the XML file location access mode, click Browse and locate the folder that contains the XML file.
Right-click the XML file and select Open With. This will display a list of programs to open the file in. Select Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac). These are the pre-installed text editors for each operating system and should already be on the list. Any basic text editors will work.
Remove a Text Node xml is loaded into xmlDoc. Set the variable x to be the first title element node. Set the variable y to be the text node to remove. Remove the element node by using the removeChild() method from the parent node.
Viewing XML Files To view raw XML source, try to select View Page Source or View Source from the browser menu. Note: In Safari 5 (and earlier), only the element text will be displayed. To view the raw XML, you must right click the page and select View Source.
Open an XML data file to import its data Click File Open. In the Open dialog box, click the drive, folder, or Internet location that has the file that you want to open. Select the file and click Open.
