Create footnotes Place the insertion point where you want the footnote reference number to appear. Choose Type Insert Footnote. Type the footnote text.
Introducing and setting the tag structure PDF tags provide a hidden structured, textual representation of the PDF content that is presented to screen readers. For example, documents that have visual lists can be tagged with list tags, documents that have visual data tables can be tagged with table tags, etc.
Choose Type Insert Footnote or Type Insert Endnote and then type in footnote text. The newly created footnote/endnote will appear at the bottom right of the frame and as you type in information, the text frame will expand upwards until it docHubes the line with the footnote reference.
Basic Tagging in Acrobat Open the untagged PDF in Acrobat. Open the Tags panel. Click the options menu (or right-click the No Tags Available text) and select Add Tags to Document. Acrobat will automatically generate tags for the document. Please review your tags in the Tags panel and make corrections if necessary.
If a footnote is referenced in a tables header cell, add the note in a Paragraph tag below the table in the Tags tree. Place the Note tag (in a P) as the last tag for the page where it appears in the physical view. Use this option if the same footnote is referred to multiple times on the page.
Footnotes or endnotes must be placed in a tag. The reference character is placed in a label and the body of the note is placed in a tag. Each Note must have a unique ID. A Reference tag will appear in the screen reader link list although it does not contain link capabilities.
Choose Type Document Footnote Options. In the Numbering And Formatting tab, select options that determine the numbering scheme and formatting appearance of the reference number and footnote text. Click the Layout tab, and select options that control the look of the footnote section on the page. Click OK.
Click References Insert Footnote. Word inserts a reference mark in the text and adds the footnote mark at the bottom of the page. Type the footnote text. Tip: To return to your place in your document, double-click the footnote mark.
