Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you my favorite top 10 tips and tricks for successfully controlling your Microsoft Outlook inbox. When I worked at Microsoft, I routinely received about 250 to 300 emails every single day, and of course, only a small fraction of that e-mail actually required my attention. I learned a whole bunch of different techniques for successfully managing my inbox, and today I want to share those with you. All right lets open up Microsoft Outlook. This brings us to tip number one. You can receive a text message when you receive an important e-mail. This way youll be sure not to miss it. Here for example, my manager Patty Fernandez sent me an e-mail and she wants me to get back to her ASAP. Now, lets say Im focused on some tasks. Maybe I have Outlook minimized, or maybe Im sitting in a meeting and Im being good and Im not looking at my laptop screen. I might just completely miss this e-mail. So how do we set it up

Create an email signature Select New Email. Select Signature Signatures. Select New, type a name for the signature, and select OK. Under Edit signature, type your signature and format it the way you like. Select OK and close the email. Select New Email to see the signature you created.

Select Categorize from the top toolbar, and then do the following: To apply a category: Search for or select the category you want to use. Email tags are a handy way to create a new account identity, while still managing all of your messages under one email address. If you have the email address someone@example.com, you can create a new Google account with the address someone+sometag@example.com by entering the address with the tag here.
You can add any tag to your email by injecting +tag after the name before the @-sign, e.g. firstname.lastname+tag@gmail.com (before the @ is the local part of the email address). All these emails are still delivered to firstname.lastname@gmail.com, and you can use the +tag to filter the emails!
Enable the Smart Tag 2. Click Tools Options Other. 3. In the Person Names section, click the Enable Person Names Smart Tag.
For Mac press Command (⌘) + A to select all of the emails in the folder. For PC or Mac Highlight the first message you want to select in the list. Press and hold down the Shift key. Highlight the last message in the list of emails. Release the Shift key.
In the body of the email message or calendar invite, enter the @ symbol and the first few letters of the contacts first or last name. When Outlook offers you one or more suggestions, choose the contact you want to mention.
If youre emailing multiple people at once, and you need different people to pay attention to different parts, you should tag each of them. Write @name for each person or team, and put their names in bold. Ideally, put all these requests in a list, so people can scan down the left for their name.
