Hi this is Sandra Henry-Stocker, author of the Unix as a second language blog on Network World. In this Linux tip weamp;#39;re going to look at the tac command itamp;#39;s a very unusual command it does something you probably donamp;#39;t need to do very often but when you do it can save you a lot of trouble and donamp;#39;t be surprised if youamp;#39;ve never heard of it the name of the command tack is simply cat spelled backwards and this is very relevant what the cat command does is display the contents of the file the tag command does this in Reverse it displays files with the Lions in reverse order and of course only works with text files if you have a file of date sorted events for example and you want to see the most recent event first instead of last you can use tack in place of cat so hereamp;#39;s an example if you have a file called in its use tack to see that file in reverse order like that now however your file may be organized TAC will allow you to reverse the order
