[Music] this is just a quick mixed media piece that i wanted to upload for you guys one thing thats fun to do with canvases is to create kind of a whitewashed background thats made up of text and and different things different pictures and collage elements but to still kind of create negative space for the rest of the painting with with a good white wash to kind of blend it in so thats what im doing now im creating a a collaged background with book pages and then im going to be whitewashing it with watered-down gesso so well have a background where you can see the text coming through but it will still kind of give that blank canvas kind of a look when i do collages on canvas i always use gel medium its its such a great adhesive because it dries clear but its very very strong so i use it in a lot of my artworks especially the ones where i do quilling pieces where its its rolled paper that ive pressed into different shapes and i use that i use gel medium to fill up the back
