Roll it slowly from the edges: Start at the top and roll the Blu Tack down slowly from the edges into a cylinder-like shape. This method avoids pulling off paint or wallpaper and leaves no sticky residue behind. Blot it with Blu Tack: If theres still residue left behind, use the piece of Blu Tack you removed.
Our top recommendations are usually Bar Keepers Friend (great for kitchen surfaces), melamine foam (Magic Erasers), Murphys Oil Soap (wood cleaner), and Natures Miracle (enzyme cleaner). Make sure you use cleaners appropriate to the surfaces you are working with and follow all safety labels.
If the surface underneath the Blu Tack is old, delicate or porous, there may be a mark left behind by the sticky tack. Chewing gum remover, a citrus based cleaner, sugar soap or lighter fuel can sometimes remove the residue left behind.
Direct heat, like from a hairdryer, can make the residue easier to peel off. Repeat the process until all of the Blu Tack marks have been removed. Another option is to use citrus-based solutions. These can include white vinegar, lemon, or washing up solutions.
Also known as a melamine sponge, the magic eraser is a great way to remove Blu Tack from the wall. All you have to do is add water and watch the magic happen. If you already have a magic eraser at home, then you dont have to buy a new product to know how to get Blu Tack stains off walls.
Rubbing Alcohol or Vodka Wet a paper towel or clean cloth with rubbing alcohol, and rub the residue to lift it off. For stubborn stickers, place an alcohol-soaked cloth on the area and let it sit for several minutes to soften the residue.
Another common method for removing Blu Tack is white vinegar. This is one of the things which will dissolve it, and therefore make it easier to remove. The first thing to do is to gently heat the vinegar, if you can, by popping it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
