In this part of the tutorial we will show you what you should consider during the mounting of the STR1 safety switch. The mounting holes of the sensor allow left-hand sided and right-hand sided mounting. The sensor has three active sensing areas. So every actuator can approach from three different directions: frontal to the sensing area or sidewise to the sensing area. Additionally, every actuator can be mounted in two positions: frontal to the sensing area or turned by 90 to the sensing area. To minimize the possibilities of manipulation please use non-detachable fastenings for the actuator, for example one-way screws from SICK. The STR1 should be mounted on a non-ferritic surface. If that cannot be assured the operating range may be affected and the switching distance must be verified before use. When mounting the STR1, please also consider the minimum distance between the sensors to avoid mutual interference. In the next part of the tutorial we will show you the commissioning of th
