the literary technique of foreshadowing so for shattering is when the author hints that was to come it contributes to the suspense in a book and it helps readers gain an awareness of what will happen next Steinbeck uses a lot of foreshadowing in Of Mice and Men one of the main things is in helping us realize Lennyamp;#39;s violent nature and that may be something really bad could happen by the end of the novel in the beginning in the first example there it is the first thing time we hear that Lennie has done something bad Lennie looked sadly up at him they was so little he said apologetically Iamp;#39;d pet him and pretty soon they bit my fingers and I pinched their little their heads a little and then they was dead because they was so little so here we find out that he accidentally kills mice is it an accident or was this a problem that he has later George is talking to one of the ranch hands and explaining how they got in trouble up and weed he just scared her Iamp;#39;d be scared

In the world Of Mice and Men describes, Candys dog represents the fate awaiting anyone who has outlived his or her purpose.
In this lesson, we mentioned three symbols from John Steinbecks Of Mice and Men: Candys dog, which represents the fate of those who are weak; mice, which symbolize false hope; and the dream farm, which symbolizes unattainable independence and protection from the world.
George and Slim become friends and Slim helps him when Lennie later needs protection. Steinbeck writes Slim as an intuitive character who seems to instinctively understand the nuanced relationship between George and Lennie; we see this compassion at the end of the novel clearly.
Three particular comparisons include Lennie being likened to a bear, a horse, and a terrier. The text describes Lennie as he walks, the way a bear drags his paws, which suggests his immense size and clumsy movements.
Analysis of Imagery in Of Mice and Men In Chapter One, Lennie is described through animalistic characteristics, His [Georges] huge companion dropped his blankets and flung himself down and drank from the surface of the green pool; drank with long gulps, snorting into the water like a horse.
He describes Lennie in terms of an animal more than a child. Animals are innocent, in that they do not have the capacity to act morally or know good from bad. But animals can be dangerous because they can have no morals and act on instinct. Steinbeck compares Lennie to a bear, a potentially very dangerous animal.
In John Steinbecks Of Mice and Men, he uses naturalism to get his point across. Steinbeck uses animal imagery to emphasize power, including how Lennie has physical power over other people, George has power over Lennie, and Curley and his wife are seen as weak and helpless.
