hi folks Im Gary Dungey from Big Bend saddlery and this month our tech tip were going to talk just a little bit about latigo sandaiwood covered Tainan lat agos and things like this but this is just some little latigo facts that might be interesting to you you can take them do whatever you want to with them to start out with latigo leather kind of has a double tannic its not its not just tanned one way first its chrome tanned like shap leather and then after its chrome tan then its veg tan like saddle leather and that makes it kind of soft and pliable a little bit more like shap leather but it has all the strength of saddle leather and then back in the old days when latigo was really really good they added quite a bit of oil and wax to it today its kind of hard to find much light ago that has much oil or wax in it but you can add that yourself and make a pretty good light ago if you start out with a good piece to start with you can add gold and the wax to it I want to start out he
