Answer: Open the Word document that you want to insert a photo in. Click the place in your document where you want the picture to appear. Access the Insert Picture dialog box. Browse to the photo you want to insert. Click the file, then click Insert. Modify the picture as necessary.

Click on the object next to which is the Anchor you want to remove. On the upper right side of the object, you will see the icon for the Layout Options. Click on the In Line with Text option. The anchor will disappear, and your image is now inline instead of floating.
