24 November 2021. A GSM Cell-ID (CID) is a unique number by which GSM towers or the sector of the GSM tower can be identified within a location area code (LAC) or a GSM network. The first or last digits of a CID represent the sector ID.
The E-UTRAN Cell Global Identifier is used to identify cells globally. The ECGI is constructed from the MCC (Mobile Country Code), MNC (Mobile Network Code) and the ECI (E-UTRAN Cell Identifier).
In an LTE cellular network an LTE base station (eNodeB) traditionally uses three sectors and three antennas. This antenna sectorization technique ensures that sectors of the same eNodeB do not interfere with each other.
The eNodeB ID appears to be ABCDEF in a standard-sized network. The first two figures (namely AB) indicate the city where the eNodeB is located. MCC: It is of 3 bits. MNC: It is of 2 bits or 3 bits. eNodeB ID: Its value ranges from 0 to 1048575. Cell ID: It is unique to every cell in the same eNodeB.
A Physical Cell Id (PCI) is the identifier of a cell in the physical layer of the LTE net- work, which is used for separation of different transmitters. Due to the construction of PCIs, the number of PCIs are limited to 504.
The term eNodeB refers to the base station equipment that handles the radio interface with the mobile devices. The eNodeB is responsible for managing the radio resources for the cell, and for handling the radio link protocols with the mobile devices.
Cell Global Identity (CGI) is a globally unique identifier for a Base Transceiver Station in mobile phone networks. It consists of four parts: Mobile Country Code (MCC), Mobile Network Code (MNC), Location Area Code (LAC) and Cell Identification (CI).
E-UTRAN Cell Identifier is used to identify a cell uniquely within a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN). The ECI has a length of 28 bits and contains the eNodeB-IDentifier (eNB-ID).
Answer. The cell ID represents a specific cellular tower, so seeing messages where it changes would indicate that the router is physically moving, or that its sitting within close range of multiple towers. Additional Information.
To obtain the Cell ID and Location Area Code: Log into the User Console. Select the SIM you wish to locate. Click `Details` at the top. Select `Session Details` Under this tab, it will list each session event, which will list the MCC/MNC as well as the Local Area code and Cell ID.
