Check if a file has an ACL by using the ls command. filename specifies the file or directory. In the output, a plus sign (+) to the right of the mode field indicates that the file has an ACL.
In Cloud Storage, you apply ACLs to individual buckets and objects. Each ACL consists of one or more entries. An entry gives a specific user (or group) the ability to perform specific actions.
Display ACL entries for a file by using the getfacl command. Displays the file name, file owner, file group, and ACL entries for the specified file or directory.
Description. getfacl displays the comment header, base ACL (access control list) entries, and extended ACL entries, if there are any, for each file that is specified. It also resolves symbolic links. You can specify whether to display access, file default, or directory default.
setfacl and getfacl are used for setting up ACL and showing ACL respectively.
setfacl sets (replaces), modifies, or removes the access control list (ACL). It also updates and deletes ACL entries for each file and directory that was specified by path.
Check if a file has an ACL by using the ls command. filename specifies the file or directory. In the output, a plus sign (+) to the right of the mode field indicates that the file has an ACL.
So in order to remove ACLs just run setfacl -b -R on the directory, and chmod g=rwx afterwards. (Fixing group permissions might be needed, because currently your changes actually went to changing the ACL mask instead.)
The file default ACL is copied to a newly created file as its access ACL. It is also copied to a newly created subdirectory as its file default ACL. The directory default ACL is copied to a newly created subdirectory as both its access ACL and directory default ACL. You can modify or delete inherited ACLs later.
How to Set an ACL on a File Set an ACL on a file by using the setfacl command. $ setfacl -s user:: perms ,group:: perms ,other: perms ,mask: perms , acl-entry-list filename -s. Verify that an ACL was set on the file or verify which ACL entries were set on the file. $ getfacl filename.
