inside the stack inside the stack the stack looks something like this recall that your base pointer is responsible for saving your position instead of a stack and so with respect to stack the base pointer is like its home page it says this is where I am so everything works around the perspective of the stack pointer and so when we call the function add with two parameters 8 and 4 it looks something like this now from the as you recall on the stack it increased by four so four four four four and everything works from a relative point of view of the base pointer because it needs to be worked from the from the point of view of the base pointer because the stack frame the stack pointer is always changing when something is pushed onto and off of the stack so this is always changing so we need the base pointer to be it keeps sake to tell us where we are from a stack frame so with this function you need to know that the base pointer goes up from here it goes up towards higher memory and from

The frame pointer, , is used by high-level language compilers to track the current stack frame. This register can be helpful when the program is running under a debugger, and can sometimes help the compiler to generate more efficient code for returning from a subroutine.
A stack frame is a memory management technique used in some programming languages for generating and eliminating temporary variables. In other words, it can be considered the collection of all information on the stack pertaining to a subprogram call.
Stack is one of the segments of application memory that is used to store the local variables, function calls of the function. Whenever there is a function call in our program the memory to the local variables and other function calls or subroutines get stored in the stack frame.
While the subroutine is active, the frame pointer, points at the top of the stack. (Remember, our stacks grow downward, so in the picture $fp is correctly pointing at the last word that was pushed onto the stack, the top of the stack.)
You only absolutely need a frame pointer when dynamically allocating variable amounts of space on the stack. Functions that use variable length arrays and/or alloca in C are examples of functions that need a frame pointer.
the fp stands for the frame pointer which is used as a base pointer to local variables on the stack. Although sp (stack pointer) varies ing to function calls from a function, fp holds a fixed value. The relationship between the sp and the fp is a just difference of offsets for the stack.
The compiler passes parameters and return variables in a block of memory known as a frame. The frame is also used to allocate local variables. The stack elements are frames. A stack pointer (sp) defines the end of the current frame, while a frame pointer (fp) defines the end of the last frame.
The frame pointer ($fp) points to the start of the stack frame and does not move for the duration of the subroutine call. This points to the base of the stack frame, and the parameters that are passed in to the subroutine remain at a constant spot relative to the frame pointer.
