The glue I generally prefer to use for this sort of operation is Mod Podge (Matte-Mat-Mate). Although similar in appearance to PVA glue, Mod Podge has a couple of advantages over some cheaper white glues. Namely it doesnt seem to shrink or turn yellow over time.
Loctites mounting putty pack includes 2 ounces of blue putty thats sticky enough to adhere securely to hard surfaces but not so sticky that it will tear paper posters or artwork.
Use adhesives that have double-sided tape. These adhesives do not remove paint. Recommend using these hangers as they can also hold keys and bags. Use FABER CASTELL TACK-IT multipurpose reusable adhesive.
In a group of flags displayed from staffs, the U.S. flag should be at the center and the highest point. When the U.S. flag is displayed other than from a staff, it should be displayed flat, or suspended so that its folds fall free.
Hammer and Nail is an inexpensive way to hang flags without having to drill holes in the wall. You just need a hammer and some nails. This method works best for hanging heavier objects such as holiday decorations or large banners. For smaller flags, you might want to use a different type of fastener.
Adhesive putty is another popular way of hanging an American flag on the wall. It is non-toxic and reusable, and there is no need to pierce your wall.
The Flag Code states that the flag should not touch anything beneath it, including the ground. This is stated to indicate that care should be exercised in the handling of the flag, to protect it from becoming soiled or damaged. You are not required to destroy the flag when this happens.
Dirty, ripped, wrinkled or frayed flags should not be used. Also, when flags are damaged, they should be destroyed in a dignified manner. The U.S. flag should flow freely in the wind or in a lobby with a passing breeze as people walk past.
