You will need the following endorsements: TSA Citizenship Verification: Title 49 CFR Part 1552.3(h) Pre-Solo Aeronautical Knowledge: Title 14 CFR Part 61.87(b, c, d) Pre-Solo 90 day (local flight and limitations): Title 14 CFR Part 61.87(n)
Logbook endorsements specify the category, class, make, and model of aircraft a sport pilot is authorized to fly as PIC.
Prior to creating an entry for the Simulated Flight, you will need to create a Logbook aircraft instance for the Simulator. You can do this by navigating to More Logbook Aircraft in ForeFlight Mobile and then tap on the + symbol at the top right.
For the same reason, recreational pilots must carry their logbooks on all solo cross-country flights that exceed 50 nautical miles, in airspace that requires ATC communication, take place at night, and when they are flying an aircraft for which they dont hold the appropriate category or class rating.
Unlike other knowledge tests that do not require an endorsement (specifically, Fundamentals of Instructing, Flight Instructor Airplane, and Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane), you do need an endorsement from a CFII or an Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI) to take your Instrument Rating Airplane knowledge test.
The regulation requires a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor in order to be able to take the knowledge test. 14 CFR part 61, section 61.405(a) requires a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor for sport pilot instructor applicants. Aviation Instructors Handbook (FAA-H-8083-9) - Appendix C faa.gov aviation 15aihappendixc faa.gov aviation 15aihappendixc
The endorsement can be viewed in the ForeFlight mobile app in the logbook view under the Qualifications section. The endorsement can be deleted and resent indefintely. Thats it.
