Track Changes is a feature in Microsoft Word that allows a person to edit a document on the computer and return it to the original owner electronically. It shows what has been changed, who changed it, and other comments that are added by the editor. View, then select Print Layout.
Document markup is the process of adding codes to a document to identify the structure of a document or the format in which it is to appear. Document markup is a communication form that has existed for many years.
The good thing about Track Changes is that it records every edit without making anything permanent. You can move, copy, delete and insert text, change formatting, even change pictures and insert objects. And the person who sent you the document can see the changes you made and decide whether to accept or reject them.
In the open document, navigate your cursor to the toolbar at the top of the page and click on the Review tab. This provides access to several modifications and revision tools, such as spell check and proofing language. Enable the redline feature by clicking the Track Changes icon.
To add revision bars: Click on the element you want the revision bars to appear beside. Press CTRL+D. The Modify Attributes dialog box opens. Choose an option from the revisionflag field. Choices are added, changed, deleted, and off. Click OK.
Try it! Select Review Display for Review. Select the option you want: Simple Markup points out where changes are made with a red line in the margin. All Markup shows all edits with different colors of text and lines. In the Show Markup list, select the types of revisions youd like to see: Comments.
Turn the display of formatting marks on or off Go to File Options Display. Under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the check box for each formatting mark that you always want to display regardless if the Show/Hide. button is turned on or off.
Turn Track Changes on To track only your own changes - On the Review tab, select Track Changes Just Mine. To track everyones changes - On the Review tab, select Track Changes For Everyone. Note: To turn Track Changes off, select Track Changes again.
