so on this job I need to sort out another carpenters work hes fitted some doors and he hasnt done a bad job or um theres a few things that he hasnt taken into account so I just go in right now and show you whats happened so were in the job now and here is one of the doors in this job theres about 10 doors to fix and all of the doors are just really hard to close now the last Carpenter didnt do a terrible job he just didnt leave enough space for expansion and this is the result because the doors have expanded and been painted and also had intermission strip put on the doors are just really hard to close and some of them just dont close I never thought with this door the hinges were chopped in way too deep on the frame so what Ill need to do is take off the door plane the ball down and maybe not even chop the hinges onto the door to rectify for binding [Music] thank you huh okay a little bit more it looks like so I did trim quite a lot of the door but it just needs a little

Tack coat is a thin layer of asphalt that ensures the bonding between old and new asphalt layers. It is also used in construction or for renovation of roads to achieve better strength. Tack coat is sticky, which is very important for forming a secure bond between the two layers of asphalt.
When is a Tack Coat Needed? A tack coat is normally applied to an existing pavement surface before a new layer of HMA is placed. This is done whether the existing surface is an old asphalt concrete layer or a portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement.
The base can be either a subgrade or a base rock. Prime functions as a protector from rain for both types of bases. A prime coat should not be confused with a tack coat. Tack is an adhesive for gluing two asphalt layers together.
For new construction, tack coat is not required for hot mix asphalt placed over aggregate base, so the number of layers should be reduced by one when determining the total number of layers requiring tack coat. The tack coat application rate varies with the condition of the existing surface to which it is applied.
Tack coats should be applied uniformly across the entire pavement surface and result in about 90 percent surface coverage.
The tack coat also greatly reduces the amount of sliding or slippage failures that may occur between the existing pavement surface and the new HMA pavement layer. Thus, the proper application of the tack coat is very important in the long term durability of the asphalt concrete pavement.
