- A couple of weeks ago I played a game of noughts and crosses, tic-tac-toe, and my opponent was DNA and the DNA won. How is that possible? How can you play a game against DNA? There are these nine wells. They represent the game grid and in each of those wells is a special solution of DNA. And in addition to that, over to one side there are all these other solutions of DNA that I can choose from. They represent the moves that I can make. The way we set it up is DNA takes the first move and plays the center square. When itamp;#39;s my move, suppose I want to play this square, letamp;#39;s call that square number four. So I find the solution that represents playing square number four on my first move and I pipette that solution, just the right amount, into each one of those nine wells. Thatamp;#39;s how I tell the DNA in those nine wells which move I want to make. We then put those nine wells into a special machine. There are standard formats that many colleges use to signify dates, levels and titles. Most college courses are identified by three to four numbers. For example, the first digit may indicate the class year, the middle two digits may identify the subject and the last digit may indicate the number of credit hours.

Usually the first digit indicates the level of the class: 1 for freshmen, 2 for sophomore, etc. The three or four prefix letters are generally an abbreviation of the department through which the course is offered: GE for general ed, Mus for music, etc.
Each course at the University of Toronto is assigned a unique course code to provide information such as: which area of study the course belongs to, the level of study, which U of T campus it is offered at, its credit value, and more. For example, ENG101H5: Component. Example. Explanation.
Courses are designated by two numbers, separated by a colon. The first number refers to the department or area of the course; the second number refers to the specific course. For example, in the course designated 600:111 the 600 refers to the Department of Art and the 111 refers to the course.
The course code indicates the course area, the level, and whether it is a year or a semester course.
University of Torontos General Admission Average refers to the minimum mid-year average of 75% that is typically required for admission into most undergraduate programs at the University of Toronto.
