The Welder Qualification Test (WQT) is a critical process in the welding industry designed to assess the skills and proficiency of welders to ensure that they meet specific standards for various welding applications.
The Temporary Authorization Certificate (TAC) is a Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certification route. The UMSL College of Education offers online coursework that meets the requirements for secondary education and special education certification.
Tack welds of the fillet type may be qualified by a groove weld test or fillet weld test in full compliance with the requirements of Section IX. The code requires the tack welding to be applied following a qualified WPS whether it is removed, left in place or incorporated into the weld.
An individual who does not hold a Missouri teaching certificate should: Complete the online Temporary Authorization Certificate application. Mail original transcripts of all coursework (undergraduate and graduate) to: Educator Certification, PO Box 480, Jefferson City, MO 65102. Complete a fingerprint background check.
For ASME fabrication, tack welds are addressed by the fabrication (book) sections of the Code thusly. For tack welds to left in place, the welders must be qualified per Section IX, i.e. per QW-303.1 by groove weld testing (or for fillet welds only by fillet weld testing QW-303.2).
