[Music] hi everybody Dave here from British trucking welcome to the channel if you are new to the channel please subscribe and hit the bell icon for notifications of any future videos that I make todays video is about the drivers cards now I had a message from a member on the British trucking Facebook group and basically hes just passed his test and he was worried because when he got to the vehicle he didnt know what to do with the tachograph because he hadnt got a drivers card all that thats how Im assuming his problem was now basically as a HGV driver you need three cards if youre running a digital tachograph you need your driving licence you need your qualification CPC card and you need a drivers card now the reason the drivers card isnt compulsory as such and as soon as you pass your test you dont never get one straight away its because its an option because you may have a truck that youre driving that uses the old-style cards that you place in and the little needle
