Western bridles usually do not have cavessons or nosebands, and use only one bit and one set of reins. Western reins may either be open (also called split), closed (also called California), or roping style reins. Bits commonly come in two types: snaffle and curb.
It goes by a bunch of names here, but craft stores usually carry it. Sticky Putty, Sticky Tack, Quick Tack, Mounting Putty, and even sometimes Sticky Gum. Most people I know use masking tape or Command strips.
I used white tack for the full year that I was in halls and never had a problem with it. Its not as sticky as blue tack though. I also used white tack for the same reason, OP - blue tack gets slimey and does indeed leave a nasty greasy bluey mark!
same stuff, different brand. hope you find it! Office Depot, Wal Mart, Hobby Lobby and a lot of other places have it.. its not called Blue Tac at all places. Just look for things like Plasti-Tac (Hobby Lobby), Fun - Tac etc it will look like a set of clay strips in the container.
Prestik/Blu Tack was originally developed in 1969 in Leicester (UK) as an accidental by-product of an attempt to develop a new sealant using chalk powder, rubber and oil. Although the experiment was a failure, workers started using the resulting goop to stick messages to each others desks.
Plasti-Tak by Brooks Manufacturing Company appears to pre-date Blu Tack, with a trademark registration in 1964. Versions of the product are also sold under the generic names adhesive putty and mounting putty. The generic trademark or common name for mounting putty varies by region.
