good morning were continuing work on this little addition on the side here thats going to be a laundry room we got the footing trenches dug and weve got the forms built and the rebar installed we are ready to work on Crete today so this is a an 8 by 10 addition thats the dimensions on the exterior wall and it is going to be tied into the original foundation here so what we did was we drilled horizontal holes into the side of the old footing after we squared it up a little bit and this the old footing is unusually wide so we went about a foot into it and then epoxy half-inch rebar into the holes and then theres that rebar extends all the way around to the other side where we did the same thing these are epoxy din as well so well have a continuous footing that is structurally attached to the old one and these footings are these are two by ten said theyre about nine inches thick and about 17 inches wide code says that the the overlap on the extension on the footing on either side
