and the first thing we need to talk about is the difference between a font and a typeface theyamp;#39;re actually interchangeable terms nowadays now that the majority of things we do are digital but they did have different meanings when they were first invented nowadays when you say typeface or type family itamp;#39;s the name of a specific collection of related fonts like robato or Futura thatamp;#39;s a typeface or a font family when we say font it refers to a particular weight or width or style or variance of that type face so to put it in simple terms you might say helvetica is the typeface that Iamp;#39;ve selected and the font for this project is going to be helvetica regular nine points size so that is the typeface and the font

Default Office font Aptos is the default font across all of Office.
Last year, Microsoft announced that it was changing its Microsoft Word default font from Calibri to a new sans-serif font known as Aptos. Calibri had a nearly 20-year run.
Its meant to be used only where you specifically want it within a paragraph or a heading; to stress something, to highlight an idea, or to add some style to a block of text. Think of the accent font as bold or italic.
There are five basic classifications of typefaces: serif, sans serif, script, monospaced, and display. As a general rule, serif and sans serif typefaces are used for either body copy or headlines (including titles, logos, etc.), while script and display typefaces are only used for headlines.
You can think of typeface as another term for font (the two words are often used interchangeably), although its more accurate to call a typeface a font family, a group of fonts with similar designs. Typefaces have official names like Comic Sans, Garamond, and Helvetica.
The appearance that you choose for your text is referred to as the font or typeface. Font traditionally refers to a combination of typeface, style and size in points (e.g. Arial Bold 12 pt). In word processing, font just refers to the typeface or shape of the letters.
San Francisco is currently used for user interface across all of Apples product line, including watchOS, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and visionOS (with the notable exception of subtitles on tvOS which continues to use Helvetica).
Open Microsoft Word and click the File tab. Select Options and navigate to the Fonts section. Choose Add New Font and locate the downloaded font file. Click OK to the font.
