Scuffs versus Scratches Scuffs tend to be marks on your cars surface that have rubbed off from an alternate source. Paint from another car, rubber from a bumper, rust from a trash canall these things can scrape off one item and transfer to your cars paint job. Scratches go much deeper than scuffs.
Dampen a soft microfiber cloth. Squirt a small amount of toothpaste onto the damp cloth. Rub hard in circular motions over the scuff mark. Repeat as necessary until the scuff is gone.
Youll want to try buffing it out with a rubbing compound. If that doesnt work, youll move on to trying touch-up paint, lightly sanding it with a low-grit sandpaper, applying metal polish and cloth-buffing. (Note that some companies now make golf club touch-up paint specifically for this purpose.)
Scratches, particularly on the face and sole of a driver are normal, though, for example a bad sky-mark on the top of a drivers head does spoil the appearance of the club and will devalue it considerably. Dents that distort the shape of the club head are a no-no.
Here are the step-by-step instruction: A bowl or bucket of warm water and cleaning liquid or soap. Dip the cloth into the water and make it damp, not completely wet. Remove excess water from this cloth by squeezing it lightly. Now, using the damp cloth, gently scrub the surface of the driver.
Scuffing appears as light striations on the cylinder, usually clustered around the same area.
Club Armor make the best product for protecting the crown paint of your woods. It is the easiest to apply, looks the best and works the best of any that I have tried. Golfers use headcovers to protect the paint from chips and marks, this is just an extension of that.
