Wouldnt it be easier if you could do that electronically? In Word, you canusing two features called Track Changes and Comments. Im going to turn on track changes right now so I can show you what I mean. To do this, go to the Review tab then click the Track Changes command. Now any changes I make to the document will appear as markup, which is Words answer to the traditional red pen. For example, when I delete text, it doesnt go away it just gets crossed out. When I add more text, it gets underlined. This lets the owner of the document see what changes Ive made before making them part of the final draft. You can also add comments in the margins by selecting the text you want to comment on then clicking the New Comment command. Under the Developer tab, click Legacy Tools button in Controls group and select the Check Box Form Field control. It will insert a clickable checkbox at your cursors location. By default, the checkbox is unchecked. To check or tick the checkbox, just double-click it.
Insert a check mark symbol In your file, place the cursor where you want to insert the symbol. Open the Symbol dialog box: In the Font box, select Wingdings. In the Character code box at the bottom, enter: 252. Select the check mark you want. Once the check mark has been inserted, you may change its size or color.
Tracking is a feature available in Premium licenses. This functionality allows to: Enable and disable tracking in a document created from scratch or in an already existing DOCX. Track added, replaced and deleted contents with the compatible methods.
Open the file you want to view. Go to File Info Version History. Select a version to open it. If you want to restore a previous version youve opened, select Restore.
Turn on Track Changes On the Review tab, select Track Changes. In the Track Changes drop-down list, select one of the following: To track only the changes that you make to the document, select Just Mine. To track changes to the document made by all users, select For Everyone.
Place your cursor at the spot where you want to insert the checkmark. Go to Insert Advanced Symbol Symbols. Choose the checkmark symbol that you want. Select Insert.
Just follow these simple steps: Highlight the text you want to edit. Press ctrl+D on Windows or cmd+D on Mac. Click the Strikethrough option under Effects in the middle of the window. Press Okay.
Open the file you want to view. If youre using Microsoft 365 for Mac, select the name of the document on the title bar of the application, then select Browse Version History. If youre using Office 2016 or 2019 for Mac, select File Browse Version History. Select a version to open it in a separate window.
If Track Changes is greyed out in the Word menu bar, then its possible that the document has been locked from having changes made. In this case, youll have to first remove document protection before you can track changes in Word.
Position the cursor where you want to insert the check mark symbol. Press Alt + 0252 or Alt + 0254 on the numeric keypad.
