For a document of nothing but text, an RTF (Rich Text Format) file will suffice. If instead, you need to embed graphics and tables, you will be better off with PDF (Portable Document Format). Even for text-only documents, you need to think whether it will be OK for the program to alter the layout of the documents.
A Rich Text Document (. rtf file) is a versatile format that allows advanced formatting to be viewed on multiple platforms. Please note that RTFs, unlike PDFs, are easily edited. Before following the steps below, make sure you have made all necessary edits and revisions to your document.
Find a desired location to save the file. From within the Save As Window, find the Save File Type field. Select the drop-down arrow, and change the file from Rich Text Format (rtf) to Word Document (doc). Select Save.
The Rich Text Format (often abbreviated RTF) is a document file format developed by Microsoft in 1987 for cross-platform document interchange. Most word processors are able to read and write RTF documents. Print as Rich Text Format. Only formated text with no images. Always printed as Multipage.
On the File tab, choose Options Mail. Under Compose messages, in the Compose messages in this format list, click HTML, Rich Text, or Plain Text.
The \pard means to reset the paragraph-formatting attributes to their default value, instead of inheriting them (or some of them!) from the previous paragraph. The \par means to end the current paragraph.
(You can click Control + P, or File Print.) Under Printer, Select Microsoft Print to PDF. Click Print to save a copy of the RTF file as a PDF on your computer.
