yes this display here in the state rooms at buckingham palace marks her majesty the queens historic platinum jubilee through a display of the first ever portraits taken of her majesty as queen just 20 days after she had acceded to the throne in february 1952 and so the original prints which were taken by a female photographer called dorothy wilding are displayed alongside jewels which we see her majesty depicted wearing in those portraits and theyre very very famous portraits because they were formed the basis of her majestys image on postage stamps on coinage and banknotes and were also sent to embassies all around the world i think seeing these portraits assembled together reminds us of the longevity of her reign were going right back to the beginning exactly 70 years ago just over 70 years ago and and then we also see portraits taken for her jubilees so we do come right up to date we are displaying her majestys platinum portrait which was officially released back in june just b
