First, insert four AA alkaline batteries and attach a printed picture symbol overlay, which can be customized using the AbleNet Symbol Overlay Maker app available on the Apple app store. Next, select a recording level by turning the device around. To record a message, press and hold the record button until the indicator light activates, then speak into the microphone to record the desired message. This process is repeated for additional message locations. To finalize, press the record button again to turn off the indicator light. The device is now ready for use.
