Unlock a protected document On the Review tab, in the Protect group, click Restrict Editing. In the Restrict Editing task pane, click Stop Protection.
Step 1: Open the password-protected Word file. Step 2: Go to Review Protect Restrict Editing. Step 3: By turning off Restrict Editing, Word will ask for your password from you, and after you enter it, it will unprotect your file.
Information Click File - Properties. Click the Security tab. Click Change Settings, enter the password. Select Security Method = No Security.
If you are running Word2010/2013/2016/2019/Microsoft 365, follow the steps here: Launch Microsoft Word and enter the necessary password. Navigate to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with password. Now, when the new window pops out, delete the password and click OK to open this encrypted Word file.
Removing a password from a document is a simple process, but you have to know the original password. Open the document and enter its password. Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Clear the password in the Password box, and then click OK.
Keep in mind that passwords are case-sensitive and at most 15 characters long. Step 1: Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Step 2: Enter new password, then type it again to confirm. Step 3: Click OK Step 4: Save.
Protect a document with a password Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Type a password, press OK, type it again and press OK to confirm it. Save the file to make sure the password takes effect.
3. How to disable the protected view feature Click the File tab from the top banner. Select Options. Choose Trust Center from the left-hand menu. Press Trust Center Settings. Select Protected View. Uncheck the three options under Protected View. Click OK.
