Partial ACL Tear (Grade 2): The ACL stretches and becomes loose. Doctors often refer to this type of ACL injury as a partial tear of the ligament. This type of ACL tear is not common. Complete ACL Tear/Complete Ligament Tear (Grade 3): The ACL is completely torn split into two pieces making the knee unstable.
The short answer is yes. After the pain and swelling subsides and if there is no other injury to your knee, you may be able to walk in straight lines, go up and down stairs and even potentially jog in a straight line. The ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) is an important ligament that provides stability to the knee.
While grade 3 injuries often require complete reconstruction, a grade 2 injury may be treated with partial reconstruction. During this procedure, the ACL is reconstructed using tissue obtained either from somewhere else in the body or from a donor. The new ligament is created to replace the damaged ligament.
Very minor tears (sprains) may heal with non-surgical treatments and regenerative medicine therapy. But full ACL tears cannot be healed without surgery. If your activities do not involve making pivoting movements on the knee, physical therapy rehabilitation may be all you need.
any packet entering to interface is considered as inbound by ACL. any packet leaving out of interface is considered as outbound by ACL.
Because of the severity in damage and associated symptoms, Grade 2 tears require longer periods of recovery of about 6-8 weeks and may even require surgical repair of the ACL. The decision of whether or not to operate can be made between patient and surgeon and will depend on factors such as age and activity level.
