When the annunciatory clause falls in the middle of a sentence, use a comma and closing quotation marks before it, and a comma and opening quotation marks after it.
Quotations of 40 or more words included in a paper are presented in block format. The quotation begins on a new line and the whole quotation is indented 1/2 inch from the left margin. No quotation marks are used and the citation appears at the end of the quotation after the final punctuation mark.

If you want to omit some words, phrases, or sentences from the quote to save space, use an ellipsis (. . .) with a space before and after it to indicate that some material has been left out.
Mid-sentence When a quote appears in the middle of a sentence, follow the quote with the in-text citation, then complete your sentence immediately following the citation. Blah blah blah blah, this is a direct quote from a source in the middle of a sentence (Author, Year, p. #) blah blah blah blah.
When a citation or citations relate to a portion of a sentence they should be embedded in the sentence as a citation clause, set off by commas, directly following that portion e.g..
