Back in episode 1538, I showed how to use Conditional Formatting to add diagonal borders, to make it appear that weamp;#39;ve crossed out a cell. And Ahmed just posted a question. And Ahmed just posted a question in response to that video, where he wants to go the opposite way. So, if he would cross out a cell, like for example A1, then another cell, cell B1 would change the message to say: Target accomplished!. So, the question: is there any kind of a function that we can use, like =CROSSEDOUT or =ISCROSSEDOUT, to detect the formula in another cell? No, thereamp;#39;s not. And so I went back to Ahmed and I said: the only way weamp;#39;re going to be able to do this, is with some VBA. And even then itamp;#39;s not going to be perfect. He says: hey, VBA is fine, Iamp;#3

Just select the cell where you want to apply the strikethrough format and press Control + 5. If you want to apply this to a range of cells, select the entire range of cells, and use this keyboard shortcut.
Click Customize the Quick Access Toolbar, and then click More Commands. In the Choose commands from list, click File Tab. Choose the command, and then click Add. Click OK.
Right-click anywhere on the Quick Access Toolbar and select Customize Quick Access Toolbar. Select All Commands from the drop-down menu. Scroll down and select Strikethrough from the list of available commands. Press the Add button to add this to your Quick Access Toolbar. Press the OK button to close the menu.
Add a strikethrough button to Quick Access Toolbar Click the small arrow in the upper left corner of the Excel window, and then click More Commands Under Choose commands from, select Commands Not in the Ribbon, then select Strikethrough in the list of commands, and click the Add button.
Go to Insert Symbol. Pick a symbol, or choose More Symbols. Scroll up or down to find the symbol you want to insert.
Right-click on any existing QAT icon and select Customize Quick Access Toolbar. Alternatively, right-click on any ribbon tab and select Customize the Ribbon. From the Quick Access Toolbar option, choose All Commands from the dropdown list on the left. Scroll down and select the Strikethrough command, and click Add.
If you prefer to use your keyboard, the shortcut for Windows is Alt, H, 4. For a Mac, the shortcut is Command + Shift + X. Pressing the shortcut once will apply the strikethrough. Pressing it a second time will remove the strikethrough effect.
Method 2: Keyboard Shortcut The quickest solution to cross out text is to use the Excel strikethrough shortcut. Select the cell or text. Press Ctrl + 5 (Command + Shift + X on Mac).
