for most web devs CSS margin is one of the first things you learn sadly itamp;#39;s also one of the worst I can almost never recommend using margins in CSS shares is one of Theoamp;#39;s big bold assertions but seriously donamp;#39;t keep using margin until youamp;#39;ve watched this whole video because I think youamp;#39;re going to be surprised about some of these problems letamp;#39;s Dive Right In the first thing I want to talk about is more around the mindset this isnamp;#39;t necessarily a bug in margin like a thing that itamp;#39;s doing wrong so much as the reason why I donamp;#39;t think it makes sense with modern web dev mindsets usually nowadays when we make a web app weamp;#39;re not making all the HTML top to bottom weamp;#39;re actually making individual elements called components that are structured reused and composed throughout our applications in that mental model margins break down fast as Jane put it in this tweet that has not left my brain since I first

Yes, you can apply margin-top and margin-bottom to inline level element. Below is an example of applying margin-top and margin-bottom to an inline element.
Values for the margin-block property can be set in different ways: If the margin-block property has two values: margin-block: 10px 50px; margin at start is 10px.
A block element always starts on a new line, and fills up the horizontal space left and right on the web page. You can add margins and padding on all four sides of any block element top, right, left, and bottom. Some examples of block elements are and tags.
You can set margins on block (or inline-block but it will only look right if you set the vertical align right) because block level elements disrupt the flow of content.
For inline elements, horizontal padding and margins are respected, but the vertical margin and padding is discarded.
CSS margin-auto only works on block elements. Remove it and youre set to go. If you want those divs aligned horizontally and centred while using display:inline-block then you would need the text-align:center to be on a parent of those three items instead.
Also, with display: inline-block , the top and bottom margins/paddings are respected, but with display: inline they are not. Compared to display: block , the major difference is that display: inline-block does not add a line-break after the element, so the element can sit next to other elements.
